Nursery

Vision statement:

‘In this Nursery we will provide a predictable, respectful and nurturing learning environment. Where teachers, in Kotahitanga (Unity) with families, interact and respond to children’s individual needs holistically. Empowering each child to be happy and confident learners, within our Nursery family.’

Daily routine:

8:00-9:15am Haere Mai—Child Initiated Play and Welcome. Children have the opportunity to experience child initiated play.

9:15am Awhina Ringa—Helping Hands. Children are encouraged to take responsibility for the classroom, environment, equipment and resources, helping to tidy up alongside teachers.

9:20am Ropu Taima—Circle Time. Children become familiar with colours through the use of the ‘Mystery Bag’ using repetition and rhyme as a fun and effective way to learn.

9:30am Morena Kai—Morning Tea. Children sit together at tables and in highchairs while offered food prepared by our chef. (Food is supplied for our children aged 1 – 2 years)

10:00-11:00am Mana Aoturoa— Exploration. A range of activities promoting investigation, and sensory exploration inclusive of all ages.

11:00am Inside/ Outside Free Play. A chance for all to explore outdoors and use their fine and gross motor skills.

11:30am Taima Tina—Lunch/ Kai. Children sit at the table and highchairs together and eat lunch prepared by our chef. (Food is supplied for our children aged 1 – 2 years)

12:00pm Taima Moe—Sleep Time. Sleep times vary as we cater for children’s individual routines and needs.

1:00-2:00pm Child Initiated Play/ Experiences.

2:20pm Circle Time.

2:30pm Afternoon Kai.

3:00-4:00pm Exploration.

4:00-5:30pm Inside/ Outside Free Play. Farewell
